...On the 18th of March I had posted this pole only different...
... Viktor asked me to try it again...
...than with more space...
...as you all know I am a regular visitor of Texel...
...I knew which pole it was, so this is my second try...

I reckon you've nailed it with this one Oh Koffee Person
Picturit: Yes I did....
Thanks Jude, have a nice day, Astrid.
Much better, Astrid. The space really adds a new dimension to the photograph. Well I guess I'll have to say it...Viktor was right.
How was Texel? I am hoping to get home and make a trip to Texel at some time this year. Hope all is well with you. --Kathryn
Picturit: Viktor was right, thank you for your comment, I am pleased to hear that you will come home and try to make the trip to Texel, that means you are doing better, I am glad to hear.
I am doing fine, very busy with the project. Astrid.
Love the wide open spaces...and how the image is anchored with this rail post.
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words, I see that it is able for you to comment again, I wonder what happened, thanks for stopping by.
Astrid
...much better, dear...
...I mean in terms of a composition... ...but than again... ...what happened to the wonderful texture of wood... ...that was so perfectly presented in your previous post?... ...the dark spots are too dark... ...the light spots are too light... ...the rest is spot on...
Picturit: You are so right, I could NOT get it the same texture as last time, this was taken the same day as Jeroen was standing with the flag (Mai 6th).....in Holland we have a saying about '3 times that would do it' (very rough translated, the lighting was different, I will give it another try someday, we intend to go to Texel in late Fall.
Thank you so much for your comment..... It gives me something to work on... Astrid. almost forgot.....you were right about what you have said to me
Not to disagree with the experts, Astrid, but I really like the close-up from May just as much, but for different reasons. You can reach out and touch the nails in the previous post, for instance. I do like this, however, because of the sweeping context of the "bigger" island. I can see why that place is a haven/heaven for you!
I'm still trying to figure out your signature?!
Picturit: It does give a better overview of the beauty of this island, this is indeed haven/heaven to me, it does not matter what time of year it is, always good to be there, AF=AstridFrieling
Thank you for you always kind words, I appreciate them meer dan je weet. Astrid.
I like this as it shows the big picture
I like them both for different reasons. The texture was superb in the first and the wide open space in the second.
Always great to have advice, take it on board and retry. Thats one of the things I like about SC.
I like both shots mijn vriend but you knew that any way!!
You have captured the open space well. You know these post's very well and they are very photo genic LOL. Enjoy yourself Astrid
I like this composition much better.
Nice Astrid...but I prefer the original! I'm not sure this adds a great deal other than to put the fence post in its' surroundings.
Two different pictures...just sharing a few common elements...both are excellent, for different reasons.
In this one, Astrid, I feel like the clouds are dragging my eyes off the common subject...pretty clouds!
I like both Astrid, but they are very different. This is good because you see the post in context with the beautiful background, but because of the brightness of the day you have lost the detail in the shadow and the highlights are a bit overdone, whereas in the other one you have all the wonderful detail and texture.
Ingrid
It's the original for me Astrid - there's so much more detail in it.
The dunes & 'Dutch' clouds...
Darn it... I'll have to go and check out the original now to compare.
I love this shot for it's colour and perspective. The angle of the other poles and the wire running between them and the wood texture works really well.
Picturit: erm..erm...Paul I had put in the link to make it easy for comparing.
Thank you for your kind words. Astrid
I like both of them Astrid. They are totally different. I prefer the original one because of the details and the texture.
amazing background color contrast and very interesting foreground object, all together make great composition
Dear Picturethis, I think that this is a fine composition. Did you bump into any oil wells in Texel?
A delightful 'elemental' shot, Astrid!
Picturit: Thank you so much Alexandra, I am so sorry your rely address did not work,
Astrid.
I'm afraid I'm on the fence to, they are both worth pictures.
I like both pictures Astrid, the detail in the other one and the space in this, but I would have liked just a small crop off the left in this, midway between the edge and the left hand end of the diagonal pole.
A simple image, Astrid. The warm colours of the ground cover really compliment that gorgeous sky.
Astrid - you should photograph every pole on Texel and make a series of them. EVERY SINGLE ONE!
Beautiful lighting and colors !
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words.
Have a nice weekend Astrid.
This is an Astrid shot: simple, fascinating angle, beautiful focus and DoF.
Picturit: Thank you so much for your very kind compliment, I mostly appreciate it,
Astrid.
Beautiful shot!Great DOF
Picturit: Thank you so much for your kind words,
Astrid.
I like this one. Shows the wide field. Excellent composition having the focus on the wood and specially the rusty nail.
this photo has a lot of depth due to the diagonal bar. like it.
Picturit: Thank you Holger, I love this place very much and has many opportunities to take nice pictures.
